Vacancy-Mediated Magnetism in Pure Copper Oxide Nanoparticles
Room temperature ferromagnetism (RTF) is observed in pure copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles which were prepared by precipitation method with the post-annealing in air without any ferromagnetic dopant. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) result indicates that the mixture valence states of Cu1+ and Cu2+ ions exist at the surface of the particles. Vacuum annealing enhances the ferromagnetism (FM...
متن کاملBlack Tea Extract Mediated Green Synthesis of Copper Oxide Nanoparticles
Copper oxide nanoparticles were synthesized using black tea extract and copper nitrate as thecopper source by the green method at different calcination temperatures. This method has manyadvantages such as nontoxic, economic viability, ease to scale up, less time consuming andenvironmental friendly approach for the synthesis of CuO nanoparticles without using any organicchemicals. The synthesize...
متن کاملVacancy Defects Induced Magnetism in Armchair Graphdiyne Nanoribbon
Spin-polarized electronic and transport properties of Armchair GraphdiyneNanoribbons (A-GDYNR) with single vacancy (SV), two types of configurations fordouble vacancy (DV1, DV2) and multi vacancy (MV) defects are studied by nonequilibriumGreen’s function (NEGF) combined with density functional theory (DFT).The results demonstrate that the A-GDYNR with the SV has the lowe...
متن کاملBiological Synthesis of Copper/copper Oxide Nanoparticles
Metal nanoparticles have gained significant interest in the past decade because of their unique physio-chemical properties which has a potential to be used in a wide range of applications. Recent efforts have gained success in synthesising nanoparticles with excellent shape and size control; however they are largely restricted to chemical methods. There is an increasing focus on eco-friendly ‘g...
متن کاملSynthesis and Characterisation of Copper Oxide nanoparticles
Cupric oxide (CuO) nanoparticles were prepared by the chemical route by calcinations at a higher temperature from 300 o C to 400 o C. For the comparison transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements were made through JCPDS. There is good agreement between data produced by spectroscopy and the microscopic measurements.
